To the people out there, have you ever been through one of those times where you have got no reason to be sad , angry, anxious but you just are? If not, then imagine going through this dilemma every month in addition to a Civil War ending with a gallon of blood. Creepy, isn’t it? But guess what! It doesn’t end here. Want to go to a temple and pray? Forget it, you are impure! Don’t touch anyone! Yes, that’s right! Even though it seems insane, in some parts of India, the people you live with might not want to be touched by you. All this, and the list goes on… But let’s stop here. I remember a spoof video from a week ago in which guys get periods… let’s see what happens if it’s true?
WHAT IF GUYS HAVE PERIODS?
Would it still be the same? Would the sanitary napkins still be wrapped in layers of newspaper and put in dark colored plastic
covers? Would they be still looked upon as isolated beings? Would their machismo be affected? Would the crime rate in this world increase exponentially when the bad guys have periods?- How worse could it get, if Trump and Kim had periods at the same time?-

For research purposes, let’s switch genders. After asking few guys about how would it be if guys had periods, I was quite surprised ! If this was put on Quora, the question might even win a Guinness Record for the most diverse answers ever! The following is an excerpt from my collection:
“What the f***k ! No way”- ( well dude , did it affect your manliness?)
“Let’s assume that you didn’t ask this question”- ( let’s assume that your are a stereotype. Oh wait! you already are )
“Search for some pads maybe…”- ( You have got good instincts mister)
“I would engage in fights or maybe I would sleep all day “- ( better you sleep . Violence isn’t good for health)
“I would freak out and think I have cancer!.”-( It is worse than that.)
“Bhak! What are you asking?”- ( A question maybe

“It would be so shameful”- ( oh ! sorry I hope I didn’t cause any damage to your integrity )
“ It would be a disappointment. Kind of messy”-(a messy disappointment huh?)
“It would be very normal. Because that would have been happening to everyone, right? “- (wow! You just became my favorite)
It’s so tough for guys to put themselves in a woman’s shoes. To the boys reading this, realizing the fact that a woman goes through this pain and discomfort every month …How does this feel? Just a question to ponder over.
Mockery put aside, do ask yourself the above questions!
As the recent sanitary napkin advertisement says, ‘A girl’s confidence plummets during puberty.’
This is true to an extent because few physical as well as social discomforts start acting as hurdles and result in low self -esteem. So I guess, at least a proper social approach would help us(the responsible and sensible society) to mould the minds and lives of younger girls. Menstruation is completely a natural process and not something a girl chooses voluntarily, what is there to be ashamed of? I take pride in it! Because it is a life-giving process. Why discriminate someone on basis of such a pure and natural thing? We agree that the youth today might have a practical and understanding approach to this, but there are many out there who still view this as impure and find it ridiculous to even talk about it.
With so many questions running over my mind I just thought maybe it’s better be a woman’s thing. Maybe, men don’t have the endurance that a woman possesses. Maybe, only women are capable enough of facing the social stigma and have the willpower to overcome all the atrocities related to their periods in their way. Maybe, any of this doesn’t even matter to many people out there but to me, what matters is that tiny spark of thought which left you pondering over this unconventional question .
By now , many would have formed an opinion that these lines must be coming from a feminist but no, I am just a DEVIL’S ADVOCATE.
